- The New Year fair is held to commemorate the anniversary of Kobo Daishi, the founder of the Shingon school of Buddhism. The fair draws visitors from all over the country who throng to Kawasaki Daishi Temple.

- Daruma Market at the Fudo-in Temple
- Tokusa Fudo, the Buddha to whom Fudo-in Temple is dedicated, is known as a deity who protects against fire. Daruma dolls are lucky objects supposed to bring good harvests and prosperous business. There are lots of stalls at the market, which is well known throughout the Kanto region.

- Setsubun-e Bean Festival
- Prayers for a safe year and good luck are offered at the temple's main hall. Men and women who were born under the same sign of the zodiac as the current year throw beans from a specially constructed stage within the temple precincts as part of the Setsubun festival. The festival gets off to a loud and boisterous start as the participants throw beans and all call out at once for the gods to bring good luck. *The bean throwing festival is held at 11:30, 14:00, and 16:30.

- Annual Itsukushima Shrine Seaweed Festival
- This annual festival is held to celebrate Kawasaki's past as a center of seaweed production. There are also workshops where you can try your hand at preparing seaweed for sushi (from 9:00).

- Oyama Kaido Festival
- The Oyama Kaido Festival features local goods, a flea market, live music, rakugo storytelling, and a variety of other events. The festival attracts many visitors and is a big social event for the local community. A promotion is also held whereby you can receive a free gift if you collect ink stamps from two or more festival venues.

- Mieku Festival
- A special service is held to honor the memory of Kobo Daishi, or Kukai, as the founder of the Shingon school of Buddhism. The temple precincts are decorated with five-colored pennants and paper lanterns. A plant fair is also held in the same location.

- Hatsu-u Festival (Omato)
- A large snake is made out of straw and is used to decorate the shrine gate. Adults and children wearing ceremonial costumes fire arrows at a target as part of a ritual intended to ensure plentiful harvests. The snake is around 3 meters long. It has horns made from burdock, a tongue made from a carrot split in half, and eyes made from taro. A wooden sword is stuck in its tail.
